72 Cricket Hats
26 Arm Guards
10 Chest Guards
14 Hectors
64 Soccer Balls.

In total 670 sporting items were collected and donated for the Uganda cricket gear appeal.

Bankstown DCC started an initiative back in 2005 after Brian Freedman returned from the U19's world cup in Bangladesh. To Brian's shock he saw the Ugandan team having to swap gear at the fall of each wicket at the fence and he knew something had to be done to help them out. On his return he partnered up with various bodies to donate equipment to Uganda. Brian and his team are now in the process of filling their ninth shipping container to send to Uganda, with the local cricket association commenting that the donated equipment has helped grow cricket participation in the country from 15,000 to over 50,000 in the last ten years!
