A Taste of Collaboration
Super Sikhs Sports and Cultural hosted Super Sikhs Launch Party at Cheema Da Dhaba, Granville on Sunday 20th September 2015 to create awareness of club projects & programs, recognise volunteers and acquire support and direction from various community members and leaders.The event featured over 50 likeminded individuals gather that had an invested interest in sport and community growth to discuss challenges that are faced as a society. One of Super Sikhs Sports and Cultural goals is to increase female participation in sport, but is also an area that has come with challenges and obstacles to address. On this note Super Sikhs Spokesperson Balraj Ougra said “How to increase female participation in sport became a key topic that was discussed yesterday” and highlighted that “there were a lot of positives that came from the brainstorming session”.The afternoon also gave an opportunity for Super Sikhs to Launch 2015 Super Sikhs Cup and provided attendees the opportunity to provide feedback and advice on how to make the event a greater success.“It was great to see a platform today where community members engaged, networked and discussed barriers of participation in sport.”In addition to the presentation guests in attendance included Councillor Gurdeep Singh, Deputy Mayor Hornsby and Craig McLean from Cricket NSW who said “Cricket NSW attended to be part of the conversation and he is looking forward to continuing to work with Balraj Ougra to make the Mosaic Cricket Association a huge success.MoneyGram representative Nidhi Kataria was also delighted by the engagement the event produced and said “MoneyGram is happy to support today’s event as part of MoneyGram’s community engagement program.”
