$50,000 raised in 3 hours by Super Sikhs Sports & Cultural!
 

Over 300 people came to The Ponds Community Hub, NSW this Sunday 7th August 2016 to support Khalsa Aid in their mission to recogonise and serve the entire human race as one. 


The event featured keynote speaker Ravi Singh, CEO/Founder of Khalsa aid, who shared his vision and story on humanitarian and disaster relief work around the world, inspiring the local Sydney community. Other local speakers included Harnoor Roomi, Kamal Singh and Ranjit Khera. Guests came from far and wide, spanning across the entire East Coast of Australia up to the top of Queensland.

 

The Khalsa Aid Meet & Greet Fundraiser was organised by the Super Sikhs Sports and Cultural Association and spokesperson Balraj Ougra said “The Fundraiser was a huge success & we were blown away with over $50,000 being raised from this single event in 3 hours," 


“The amount raised is a testament to the community and the cause for which Khalsa Aid stands for." 


In addition to the fundraiser guests in attendance included Honourable Michelle Rowland, Federal MP Greenway, Honourable Kevin Connolly, State MP Riverstone, Stephen Bali, Mayor Blacktown City Council and Amarpreet Singh, Head Volunteer India. MP Michelle Rowland's said “Ravi Singh is an inspiration to the community and is doing a wonderful job with Khalsa Aid." 


Khalsa Aid representative Amarpreet Singh was also delighted by the engagement the event produced and said “Khalsa Aid thanks the Super Sikhs team for taking on the responsibility of the event and [we] extend our gratitude towards all of the Sydney Sangat for their generous donations at the event.” 
 

 

Super Sikhs Fundraiser event was supported by Greenway Federal Office, Riverstone State Office, Blacktown City Mayor's Office, Mountview Real Estate, DJ AJ, Hope International, Royal Sweets, CD Batteries, Khela Group, Arc Inovationz, Sikh Federation of Australia, Qaumi Awaaz Punjabi Radio, Sikh Grammer School, Punjabi Council of Australia; and by the following Youth Organisations:Sydney Sikh Youth, Itehaas, Young Sikh Professional Network, Akal Fauj, Sikh Youth Australia, Sikh Helpline and Khalsa Camp.
